Lenten Photo Challenge Day 9 - Remember

Remember when we were young? When our kids were young?  When our dog was a puppy? Remember the good old days -  Do you have photos or a diary? Remember high school? classmates get together to relive the past that they share, but does everyone remember the same way? Our lives include the past - memories; the present - actions of today; and the future - plans in the making.

I often hear that if we do not remember the past, we are doomed to repeat it. Moses reminded the Israelites time and time again of all God had done for them. Then they would go and make the same mistakes over and over!

God remembers his promise to us in Leviticus 26:45 "But I will for their sake remember the covenant with their forefathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the signt of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the LORD."

We also must remember what God asks of us as seen in Psalm 103:17 says "But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments."

Memories, reunions, and photographs help us remember our past. The Bible helps us remember  God's promises to us and our promises to Him.
