Lenten Photo Challenge Day 17 - Worship

One of the first Bible verses I remember learning as a child was Psalm 100. I had a Bible bookmark with these words printed on it:

Make a joyful noise to the Lork, all the earth!
     Serve the Lord with gladness!
     Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
     It is he who made us, and we are his;
     we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
     and his courts with praise:
     Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
     and his faithfulness to all generations.

It is not a long psalm, but to me it is a perfect example of worship.  Each verse praises God and describes how He should be acknowledged. Make a joyful noise, come with gladness, singing! In these verses the author does not moan, complain or ask for help. Its only purpose is to worship and praise God.

As a teacher, I was instructed to start every parent conference with a positive comment about our student. I hope I can remember to start my prayers and conversations with God on a positive note as well. If I cannot think of something positive because of concerns at the time, I need to praise God for loving me, and I bet the positive ideas will then flow.
